God
God is one, Creator of all things, holy, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in a loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Having limitless knowledge and sovereign power, God has graciously purposed from eternity to redeem a people for Himself and to make all things new for His own glory.
The Bible
God has spoken in the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, through the words of human authors. As the verbally inspired Word of God, the Bible is without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for salvation, the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice, and the ultimate authority by which every realm of human knowledge and endeavor should be judged.
The Human Condition
God created humanity in his own image to govern creation according to God's design and in close relationship with God so that the whole world would be fruitful and multiplying. When tempted by satan, the first people rejected God's design in order to work out for themselves what they thought would be good and bad for their lives and for the world. By nature and by choice, all people have repeated this pattern of sin and alienated themselves from God and from God's good purposes for their lives. Only through God’s saving work in Jesus Christ can we be rescued, reconciled, and renewed.
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, one Person in two natures. Jesus—Israel's promised Messiah—was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and Advocate.
The Work of Christ
Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all people. Those who repent and believe in Him are justified by grace through faith, born again of the Holy Spirit, delivered from the dominion of darkness, transferred into the Kingdom of God’s Son, granted the gift of eternal life, and adopted as the children of God.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is a divine person sent to indwell, guide, teach, gift, empower, and bear His fruit in every believer. He convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.
The Church
The true church comprises all who have been justified by God's grace through faith in Christ alone. They are united by the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ (of which Jesus is the Head) as the family of God. By design, the Church manifests locally in house churches and large gatherings networked together across cities and regions. The Lord Jesus mandated two ordinances, baptism and the Lord’s Supper, which visibly and tangibly express the gospel. The Church has been commissioned by Jesus Christ to go into all the world bearing witness to the gospel and making disciples of all peoples.
Christian Living
It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified, being separated from sin and the world and fully dedicated to the will of God, receiving power through the indwelling Holy Spirit for holy living and effective service. This is both an accomplished work and a progressive experience of God in the life of the believer.
As revealed in the life, teaching, and ministry of Jesus Christ and in the New Testament Church, the proclamation of the gospel that Jesus Christ is Lord may be accompanied by manifestations of that same reality, notably in receiving new identity in Christ, deliverance and freedom from bondage, healing, and participation in God’s ongoing redemptive mission.
Christ’s Return
The Lord Jesus Christ will one day return – personally, bodily, and in great glory. The coming of Christ, at a time known only to God, demands constant expectancy and, as our blessed hope, motivates the believer to godly living, sacrificial service, and energetic mission.
Response and Eternal Destiny
God commands (invites? calls?) everyone everywhere to believe the gospel by turning to Him in repentance and receiving the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that God will raise the dead bodily and judge the world, assigning the unbeliever to condemnation and eternal punishment and the believer to eternal blessedness and joy with the Lord in the new heaven and the new earth, to the praise of His glorious grace.
